Goat Ranchers and Leftover Turkey

As usual, Mom outdid herself for Thanksgiving. Damn. I just polished off the last of the leftovers and I don’t mind saying that I wish I had more.

I’ve been hellishly busy lately, which is awesome. I hope it keeps up. Last week, I trekked out to Del Rio on assignment for American Cowboy Magazine. They are doing a story on Art Looney, a cowboy/rancher and western movie dude. The guy was awesome. Totally old-school cowboy. I photographed him as he worked around his house and on his ranch. I got some awesome images, but I can’t post them yet. Magazines don’t like it when you run their exclusive material before they get a chance to do so.

Assignments like that rejuvenate me. I love photographing real people doing real things. It sure beats a lot of the crazy fluff you have to shoot in order to make a living in this business. heh.
