I trashed another one!
Some of you may remember a few months back, when I dropped my EOS-1D Mark II and trashed my 24-70/2.8 L into three sexy pieces.
Well, today, Murphy came back to finish the job, and made me drop my EOS-20D onto the concrete floor of my garage. Actually, it wasn’t a “drop” so much as a “launch,” and it wasn’t Murphy or his law. It was me yanking my laptop out of the back seat in the dark, without realizing the 20D was sitting underneath it.
The vertical grip battery door won’t latch, one of the battery clips is broken, and my 17-40/4 L is in two pieces, albeit not completely severed from the mounting ring. I’m estimating four hundred bones in repair.
I haven’t even paid that damned body off yet.
That means I’m without a wide zoom at all, since my 24-70/2.8 L is out to Canon for repair (for the third time – they keep sending it back with new problems. Last time it was squeaking). I may have to borrow a lens from my assistant. Are you reading this, Emily?
Probably not. She never does.
